Tom Lynch

Greetings Everyone! My name is Tom Lynch and I am the founder of Faith Sowers. I’m married to a wonderful woman named Lore (pronounced Lori) and we have been married for eight years. We have one son named Joseph Edward after his Uncle Joe and Great Grandpa Edward. When we aren’t hanging out in the DC area we love to travel the world.

I began working in youth ministry about 12 years ago first serving as a volunteer youth worker in the late 1990′s and then accepted God’s call to serve as a Youth Pastor on a church staff in 2000 after completing my B.A. in Communication at Michigan State University.

Since my first church position I have served as an Associate Pastor, youth ministry consultant, youth pastor, seminary admissions director, networker for a church association and most recently was called to serve as Associate Pastor of Children and Youth at McLean Baptist Church. My main experience is in suburban youth ministry but have ministered in both urban and rural settings as well.

I completed a Master of Divinity degree from The John Leland Center for Theological Studies and a Certificate in Youth Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. I begin my Doctor of Ministry at Bakke Graduate University in January 2012 where I will focus on social and civic entrepreneurship. I also have the privilege to serve on the Board of Directors for the Network for Theological Education and as a Justice Advocate for the International Justice Mission.

I look forward to opportunities to speak and write about better mobilizing the church to join in God’s justice and compassion work in the world. If you are looking for someone to speak at retreats, teach youth ministry seminars, and have conversations with folks from around the world about these issues I would love the opportunity to share.

Blessings, Tom

Stephen Gray

Hey everyone!  My name is Stephen Gray.  I’ve been married to my lovely wife Randa for a little over nine years.  Randa is a former English teacher who currently enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and part-time tutor.  We have three beautiful daughters named Annie, Allison, and Ainsley.

I’ve worked in youth ministry for 16 years.  I’ve been a volunteer, an interim, worked as part-time staff, and for the last eight years have worked full-time on church staffs in Texas and Virginia.  I have experience working in churches in urban, rural, and suburban settings with youth ministries ranging in size from a handful of youth to one that numbered close to a hundred.  In every setting, one thing never changes:  students are fun to work with!

I have a B.A. in History from Texas A&M University (Whoop!) and an M.Div. from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University.  I’ve served as the Associate Pastor/Minister with Youth and Children at Westwood Baptist Church in Springfield, VA, since 2004.

After graduating from James Madison University with a B.A. in English, I enrolled as an M. Div. student at The John Leland Center for Theological Studies in Arlington, VA and graduated in 2008. Shortly after my graduation Shey and I had our first son, Rowan. I’ve served at Cornerstone as Youth Pastor since 2004, but have been a member of Cornerstone since its creation in 1996. Peace, Josh
